CAPE SEA KAYAKING WEEKEND

10 Reasons to Kayak with Cape Adventure

A weekend of sea kayaking set on the Northwest coast of Scotland, a remote and wild area of dramatic scenery. Ideal for beginner and intermediate paddlers, who are keen to develop their skills, confidence and knowledge. Our qualified instructional staff will be with you for the weekend, their experience will ensure your safety while allowing you to enjoy the natural beauty. We provide all specialist and safety equipment.

What you can expect from your weekend…

Saturday We will meet you at the Rhiconich Hotel at 10.30am, drive to our car park, unload your equipment into our vehicle, then a 10 minute walk on footpath to Cape Adventure. (Please note it is not possible to drive to our base.) Meet our staff and settle in, followed by a session on the water introducing you to the kayaks and some basic strokes. After lunch we paddle around the sheltered Loch a' Chad-Fi putting into practice the strokes and techniques returning to Cape Adventure's base.

Sunday Morning: Prepare for a sea journey and learn to pack a kayak.
Afternoon: We set off from Cape Adventure to paddle at an even pace around the varied and broken coastline of Loch Laxford until we reach our camp site. We provide instructional advice on kayaking skills and good technique, whilst taking in the variety of bird and marine life amongst stunning scenery.

Monday Pack up the camp and continue the sea journey. In the late afternoon we return to Cape Adventure for hot showers followed by tea around the wood burning stove. There will be time to reflect on your recent experiences before celebrating your achievements over a farewell dinner at our comfortable loch side accommodation.

Tuesday: Breakfast will be served at 8.00am and depart to the 'real world' by 10.00am.

N.B. The programme may vary due to weather conditions.

Thanks for all your encouragement and luxurious service! We felt we were treated like royalty, with every wish granted. Camilla Baker
