We don’t want you to have to buy expensive or unnecessary equipment before you come. For example, lightweight polyester trousers are quick-drying and good to walk in, but they do not have to be specialised walking trousers. A rubble bag from a DIY shop makes a good waterproof rucksack liner.

However, for holidays involving walking we do recommend that you bring your own, well worn-in walking boots.
