Programme
Sea kayak coastal journey

Saturday
We will meet you at the Rhiconich Hotel at 3.00pm. Drive to our car park, unload your equipment into our vehicle, then a 10 minute walk on footpath to Cape Adventure. (Please note it is not possible to drive to our base.) Settle in, discuss the programme and meet our instructors for a cup of tea. Later an introductory walk to see the areas we will paddle during the week.

Sunday
Morning: We will practice and develop skills, look at technique and generally becoming familiar with the kayaks.
Afternoon: Focus on support strokes, rescue techniques, group awareness and safety on the water.

Monday
Prepare for a coastal journey and depart for Kylesku, our starting point. Late morning / early afternoon pack the sea kayaks and launch into Loch Glencoul. Visit Eas a Chual Aluinn Europe's highest waterfall. Camp for the night.

Tuesday
Coastal Journey: Pack up camp. Paddle into Loch Glendubh, home to golden eagles. Paddle westwards, under Kylesku Bridge and out to Kerricha Gardens, only accessible by sea. Camp for the night on the coast or an island.

Wednesday
Coastal Journey: Pack up camp. Head north hugging the broken Atlantic coast line towards Ardmore. Passing bird reserve Handa Island, with its sandy southern beaches and towering northern cliffs. We aim to return to our base late afternoon / early evening.

Thursday
A skills clinic for those keen to develop more advanced techniques.
Finish the week with a Cape farewell dinner.

Friday
Depart after breakfast
